Hyatt Hotels Corporation is planning to open new Hyatt-branded hotels in Addis Ababa by the end of the year.
Hyatt Addis Abeba will feature 180 guestrooms and will be located in Kirkos District, less than 5.5Km away from Bole International Airport.
“Strengthening our existing hotel presence in the capitals of East Africa has given Hyatt a strong foundation to continue growing our brand footprint in the rest of the continent,” said Takuya Aoyama, Hyatt’s vice president of development for Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Hyatt is projected to open nine additional hotels in African including Egypt, Algeria and Senegal by 2020.
The expansion in the African continent will cost the American hotel company up to 200 million dollars.
Founded in 1954, Hyatt Hotels Corporation owns 777 properties in 54 countries, according to investor relations information from March 2018.
