About Vermont...
Vermont is a state in New England region of the northeastern United States. 43. States in the ranks by the surface, 9250 square miles, and the 45th by total area. It has 608,827 inhabitants, making it the second most sparsely populated countries (surpassing only Wyoming). The only New England state with no coastline along the Atlantic Ocean, Vermont is notable for Lake Champlain, which makes 50% of the western borders of Vermont's Green Mountains, which are handled by the north to the south. This is from the borders in southern Massachusetts, New Hampshire in the east, New York to the west, and the Canadian province of Quebec to the north.
Originally inhabited by Native American tribes Abenaki and Iroquois, on the territory that is now Vermont was claimed by France, but became a British possession after France's defeat in the French and Indian War. For many years, the surrounding colonies disputed control of the area, especially New Hampshire and New York. Settlers who had land titles granted by these colonies were opposed to the Green Mountain Boys militia, which eventually prevailed in creating an independent state, Vermont Republic, founded during the revolutionary war, and lasting 14 years, Vermont is therefore one of the three U.S. states along with Texas and Hawaii that were at one time existed as their own sovereign nations. In 1791, Vermont joined the United States as the fourteenth state, and the first outside the original Thirteen Colonies.
State noted for its scenery and dairy products. It is a leading producer of maple syrups in the United States. State capital Montpelier, and the largest city and metropolitan area is Burlington. No other country has the largest city as small as Burlington, the capital city, such as Montpelier.
