Luanda — A partnership agreement between Angola / China Chamber of Commerce (CAC) and Agência Sol Turismo will be signed on Friday (June 1) in Luanda, with the aim of promoting and leveraging the tourism sector in the country.
In addition to boosting tourist activity, the agreement to be signed between the two institutions aims to support Angolan businessmen who intend to do business with China in the tourism sector, according to a press release that arrived in Angop on Wednesday.
The partnership also aims to facilitate the acquisition of foreign exchange to cover the expenses of businessmen wishing to travel to China to do business.
“The objective of this agreement is to promote trade relations between the two countries, which is currently in decline, as a result of the current economic and financial crisis,” Luís Gomes dos Santos, vice president of CAC, said in an interview to the Angolan newspaper “O País”.
The Angola / China Chamber of Commerce currently has 800 Angolan and 200 Chinese businessmen, with the intention of increasing the number to five thousand associates in the coming years.
In 2017, trade between Angola and China grew 43.42 percent in a total of US $ 22.34 billion, with China having bought goods worth US $ 20, 047 million (over 45.08 percent) and havind sold goods in the amount of 2, 297 million dollars (over 30.45percent).
