Overall, the airline’s new Dreamliners will offer 26 seats in Royal Laurel Class, laid out in a forward-facing, alternating 1-2-1 configuration.
Meanwhile the economy cabin on the aircraft will feature 278 seats from manufacturer Recaro. These feature leather six-way-adjustable headrests along with a 12-inch touchscreen monitor.
The Taiwanese carrier will take delivery of its first Dreamliner on October 2, and will be the only Taiwan-based carrier to operate the aircraft. Its maiden flight is expected to take place by the end of next month on EVA Air’s Taipei-Hong Kong route, before extending its services to Japan upon delivery of its second aircraft.
The airline will then receive three additional 787-9s before taking delivery of its first 787-10 in the second quarter of next year. Overall, EVA Air plans to operate 24 Dreamliners by 2022.
