KLM has partnered with tech company We.Stream to sell duty free wifi hotspots that can be used on arrival in 145 countries.
The phone-sized devices allow users to create an internet hotspot by connecting to local 4G and 3G networks.
For €399 passengers get a We.Stream device, travel case and 2GB of data a month, a saving of around €100.
The internet runs up to 150 mbps and extra data can be purchased in bundles.
Devices come with an inbuilt VPN mode that encrypts internet browsing.
The offer will be available on all KLM flights with World Business Class from 1 November 2018. It will be advertised in KLM’s Business Class magazine and World Business Class passengers will get priority service, but We.Stream Marketing Manager Robert Pronk told Business Traveller passengers in other classes can also request the product.
Pronk said We.Stream had sold around 2,500 hotspots since launching the product at the start of the year.
